Beware BSNL customers, don't land in Missed calls trap

BSNL customers, especially the prepaid subscribers have been complaining since last few weeks that they are receiving missed calls from few international numbers during late night or early morning hours. A huge amount of money has been deducted from their mobile accounts after responding to the missed calls, customers mentioned in their complaints.
Such international missed calls start with - +246, 239, 234 and 960 which are basically from Maldives, Nigeria, Diego Garcia and Sao Tome and Principe.
Senior BSNL official on Aug 11 stated, "Whenever the customer dials back on these numbers, huge amount charges get deducted."
Informing about the unauthorised international calls, the official also added, "Charges deducted on these numbers could range between Rs 10 to 20 per minute call."
