Narendra Modi
Ahmedabad, Aug 12: There seems to be no respite for the Narendra Modi government from the senior police officials of the state of Gujarat. DIG Rajneesh Rai, a senior police officer of the Gujarat has reportedly told the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) that his annual confidential report has been down graded by the government.

Media reports state that in his report, Rai had revealed facts that proved that the former Gujarat Minister Amit Shah was influencing the investigations in the fake encounter cases. Furthermore, he had also accused another top Gujarat police official P C Pande of trying to suppress facts in the investigation.

It now seems as if he has joined Sanjiv Bhatt and Rahul Sharma, two other senior officials of the Gujarat police who have been targetted by the Modi government. The common connection between all three of these officers is their revelations on the Godhra riots and fake encounter cases that have since long been a blot on Gujarat.

Rai, it seems has rubbed the Gujarat government the wrong way after making the first key arrest in the Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter case. He was the one who arrested top police officials of the state including DG Vanzara and was subsequently transferred from the CID crime branch to crime records bureau.
