Pune firing: Five farmers arrested

The arrested farmers, all from Kale village in Maval, have been charged for attacking police officers and damaging their property during the agitation, said Sandeep Karnik, Superintendent of Police, Pune Rural.
Those held comprise Ravi Gardale (30), Maruti Gardale (35), Shekhar Dalvi (33), Nitin Dalvi (30) and Kiran Waghmare (21), he said.
Three farmers were killed and several were injured in police firing in Maval near Pune on Tuesday following the protests over a closed pipeline project to supply water to the industrial township of Pimpri-Chinchwad town.
