Reddy demands cabinet berth after meeting Nitin Gadkari

In an effort to get power, Reddy put forward his argument that Karunkakaran Reddy and B Sreeramulu were senior ministers and should not be punished merely on the grounds that their name were indicted in the Lokayukta report.
Janardhan Reddy also staged a walk on Aug 8 after Yeddyurappa included V Somanna's name for induction into the cabinet despite his protest. He further argued that Somanna's son was also named in the Lokayukta report and he should not be taken into the cabinet.
Meanwhile, there are reports that Janardhan Reddy would also suggest the name of his younger brother, G Somashekar Reddy or his supporters in case he or his brothers are not made the minister.
The list of names include-Somashekhar Reddy, Chairman of Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF), MS Somalingappa, legislator of Sirguppa constituency and Mr Sreeramulu"s nephew TH Suresh Babu, a MLA from Kampli.
“Mr Suresh Babu might make it to the cabinet if the party decides to strengthen its support-base among Scheduled Tribes. As Mr Sreeramulu is very popular among people of his community in north Karnataka, the leaders might accommodate his nephew to serve two purposes: placate Mr Janardhan Reddy and strengthen the vote base of Scheduled Tribes," said the sources.
Reddy also met Sadananda Gowda, chief minister and Dr V S Acharya, higher education minister during his visit to the national capital.
