Modi entangled in Godhra row: A conspiracy by Congress?
BJP senior leader Arun Jaitley, during an interview with a television channel, claimed that "Bhatt is colluding with the Congress and some civil society activists to frame Modi" over the Godhra riots controversy.
Bhatt is an IPS officer who has played a role of whistle-blower as he (Bhatt) indicted Modi in the Godhra riot 2002 controversy. Bhatt claims that he was present in a meeting conducted by Modi and other top bureaucrats and in the meeting Modi allegedly asked the officials to allow the Hindus to vest their anger on the Muslims.
In the meeting organised at Modi's residence on the eve of the brutal riot, the CM allegedly stated, "Muslims should be taught a lesson."
Recently, media reports on Aug 9 stated that Gujarat government suspended Bhatt accusing him of not reporting to his office and work over past ten months.
Bhatt has been witnessing the wrath of the state government since he challenged the CM. It was reported that Bhatt was a criminal conspirator who had been charge-sheeted by Rajasthan police as Rajasthan Lawyers community accused Bhatt of falsely implicating their colleague in a narcotics case in 1996.
