BJP workers bashed: Parl stormed, will Chidambaram resign?

New Delhi, Aug 10: The youth wing of BJP, Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) workers were bitterly bashed by the Delhi police on Tuesday, Aug 9 when they showed protest outside the Parliament. Citing the police move against its party workers, BJP leaders started ruckus in the House on Wednesday demanding resignation from the Home Minister P Chidambaram.

BJP MPs both in Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha claimed that the police lathicharged the BJP workers after receiving instruction from the home minister. The Parliament once again witnessed the series of adjournments on Wednesday.

BJP leader Shanawaz Hussain said, "Delhi Police acted on Chidambaram's instruction. He must resign and there can be no compromise."

The BJP workers were holding a protest against the UPA government and Delhi CM Sheila Dikshit as the CAG report on CWG 2010 scam indicted the Delhi CM.

However, this was not the first time when such allegations have been raised against Chidambaram. Earlier, yoga-guru Baba Ramdev's supporters also had blamed Chidambaram for instructing the police to attack Baba and his supporters in Ramlila Maidan.

Ramdev and his followers experienced the police's midnight "atrocity" when they were removed from Ramlila where they held fast-unto-death protest over Black Money issue.
