Man rapes 85-year-old for 'thrill'

Melbourne, Aug 9: An Australian man has been sentenced to 11 year imprisonment for raping an 85-year-old woman in Melbourne.

The 65-year-old accused, Allan Richard Hodson attacked the woman in a public toilet on Jan 27 at Southern Cross Station.

Duncan Allen, Victorian County Court Judge held Hoson guilty of committing rape and causing injury to the victim, calling the whole incident horrific and shocking.

"This has had a devastating impact on her in her old age," News.com.au quoted the judge as telling Hodson.

The prosecution also submitted that the accused should be jailed for 8-10 years with a non-parole period for 6-8 years.
