CWG dirt flies high- LS, RS adjourned for the day

New Delhi, Aug 8: The Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha have been adjourned for the day after another stormy session over the Commonwealth games scam. The Opposition had raised furore in the house causing speaker Meira Kumar to adjourn the Parliament proceedings.

The Opposition also demanded the resignation of Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dixit after she was named in the CAG report on the CWG.

The NDA have also decided to move privilege notice in both houses against Sports Minister Ajay Maken's comments that pointed fingers at the NDA and held their regime responsible for putting Suresh Kalmadi in the Organizing Committee Chief's chair.

The BJP has raised the ante against the Delhi government and the UPA after it turned a fresh slate following the forced resignation of scam-tainted former Karnataka CM BS Yeddyurappa and is demanding a similar move from the scam-hit Delhi CM.

The BJP's youth wing has plans to stage demonstrations outside the Parliament on Aug 9 on the rise in corruption during the UPA regime. Aug 12 on the other hand will see a two-day demonstration on the various corruption charges against the Delhi CM.
