Lokayukta issues notice to Andhra minister on assets

Hyderabad, Aug 4: The Andhra Pradesh Lokayukta has issued notices to P Shankar Rao, Textiles Minister to declare assets owned by both him and his family within six weeks.

Rao had written a letter to the Lokayukta last week claiming that he was ready for any probe against him on the allegations that he possessed illegal wealth.

Rao in his letter said that since many leaders from the YSR Congress and the TDP were accusing him and his family of owning illegal assets, “I wish to submit myself and family for a complete probe by the Lokayukta to clear my name." “Please conduct a comprehensive probe," said Rao to the Lokayukta.
