UP: Father set ablaze daughter over spoilt rotis in dinner?

Lucknow, Aug 3: A 12th standard girl has been found wrapped in flames at her residence in Lucknow. Father of the victim filed a case against five young people of the same village but circumstances hinted at a different terrific story.

Few neighbours informed that just a day ahead of the incident, the victim reportedly enraged the father when she (victim) repeatedly made sour rotis for dinner snubbing her father's objection. While discussing the issue, a person from their neighbourhood allegedly cracked a joke on the victim's father by stating - give the rotis first to stray cows and then consume them. The girl was found lying dead in her room in the very next morning.

However, the father of the victim claimed that five accused people barged into their residence and tried to rape the girl. Citing resistance from the victim, the accused allegedly poured Kerosene on her and set her on fire. The victim, who was rushed to a near by hospital, suffered 50 percent burns.

Meanwhile, sources also informed that three of the accused, whose names were mentioned by the victim's father, were not present in the village on the day of the incident.

Police official also has been quoted as saying, "We will round up the accuses and interrogate them to confirm if there was any disparity in the sequence of events that have been communicated to the police till now at all."
