Sadananda Gowda - BSY man is the new Karnataka CM

BJP has voted the new leader based on a secret ballot and Gowda is believed to have bagged 63 votes. Gowda was the strong favourite of former CM Yeddyurappa and his camp. The former BJP President, Gowda represents the Vokkaliga community and was strongly favoured by BSY.
Out of the 112 MLA's who voted for their leader, Gowda won only by a slim majority of 63 votes with rival Jagdish Shettar managing to get 55 votes. With this news, Yeddyurappa has managed to yield power and showcase that he still has considerable clout within the party.
Gowda's elevation to the top post will also mean that Yeddyurappa will remain as the frontrunner for the Lingayat community and with Gowda chosen as the CM, BSY will be able to woo both the Lingayat and Vokkaliga community in one clean swoop.
The official announcement is yet to be made on the new Chief Minister by the BJP.
