Chennai: Drama continues, Jayalalithaa releases MK Stalin

Chennai, Aug 1: Political drama continued in the state when DMK leader, MK Stalin was released by the police after he was arrested for staging a protest against the Jayalalithaa government.

"Let the Tamil Nadu government probe from 2001. Land grabbing by AIADMK leaders will come to light," said Stalin.

The DMK party is protesting against the arrest of DMK leaders in the cases of land grabbing, calling it false charges.

A number of DMK officials and loyalists were arrested in the land grab cases. Veerpansi Arumugam, ex-minister and Anbazhagan, an MLA are already in prison apart from four close aides of MK Alagiri, Union minister.

While the DMK is calling this a political feud, Jayalalithaa, Chief Minister, Tamil Nadu said that the arrests were made purely on the basis of complaints made by people.
