Militant attack caused goods train derailment in Assam?

Kokrjhar, Aug 1: Yet another train mishap has occurred and authorities suspect it to be a act of sabotage by militants. The incident happened in western Assam"s Kokrajhar district that led to the derailment of a goods train. Railway tracks in two places between Salakati and Fakiragram were found to be damaged.

Nine bogies of the goods train coming from Guwahati was derailed between Kokrajhar and Fakiragram railway stations at 7am in the morning. Police discovered wires and other materials used to sabotage the tracks. No casualties have been reported. All trains going in and out of Assam have been affected.

Police suspect militants hand behind the incident with no group claiming responsibility for the attacks. The attacks come in the wake of a 48-hour train and national highway blockade called by the National Democratic Front of Bodoland (Progressive) (NDFB-P).
