Mumbai drenched over heavy rains, many stranded

Sources from disaster management cell of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) informed that while Colaba observatory recorded 36.4 mm of rainfall, Santacruz recorded 7.1 mm of rainfall between 8.30 am to 11.30 am on Sunday.
People have been stranded in the area like Andheri, Jogeshwari, Ghatkopar, Kandivali, Haji Ali, Dadar in the dream city, Maharashtra.
Train services have been effected worst. Local trains on both western and central lines were running late by at least half an hour due to megablock for repair work. Railway tracks has been reportedly water-blocked.
However, no collapse or casualties have been reported yet. Citing the pathetic situation of the city, it seems that this is the prime time for the government to take some crucial step to save the Mumbaikars who are suffering for similar situation year after year.
