Thane: Man chops off heads of wife and infant

Thane, Jul 29: A man hailing from Nashik beheaded his wife and infant daughter on Thursday, Jul 28 following his suspicions over his wife's extra-marital affair and lose character.

Chandrakant Ahire, a middle-aged man lived with his wife, Sangeeta 25-year-old and daughter, Vaishnavi, one-and-half-year-old at Nalla Sopara, a distant Mumbai suburb, in Thane district.

On Thursday afternoon, they had an argument and in a fit of rage Ahire chopped off the heads of his wife and daughter with a sharp-edged weapon, the police said.

The man has been arrested and charged with murder, the police added.
