Dehradun cops grant Balkrishna clearance for fresh passport!

New Delhi, Jul 29: The Dehradun police chose to overlook the Intelligence report that revealed the fact that Ramdev's close aide Acharya Balkrishna is a Nepalese citizen and had obtained an Indian passport based on fake documents. They had granted a clearance to Balkrishna for a fresh passport.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday, Jul 28 issued fresh summons to Balkrishna to appear before the agency on Friday, Jul 29. He had been earlier asked to go to the CBI office on Thursday, Jul 28, but he did not turn up.

According to one of the top CBI officials, it is surprising that Balkrishna was given clearance for a new passport despite of the LIU report. “It is surprising that despite the LIU report, Balkrishna was given clearance for a new passport by senior police officials. We need to examine why the local police did not lodge a case against Balkrishna if there were reports of him using fake documents for an Indian passport," said the CBI official.

The CBI officials are all set on Friday, Jul 29 to question Balkrishna. It is also alleged that Balkrishna got to know about the LIU report and immediately applied for a new passport using a different address.
