Chennai under terror threat? Bomb recovered from a terrace

Bomb
Chennai, Jul 25: A country bomb was recovered from the terrace of a house in Elephant Gate, Chennai on Jul 25.

The half burnt material was later recognised as country bomb by the Bomb Detective and Disposal Squad (BDDS). According to police if the bomb would gone off, it would've brought down the whole building. The forensic team acting on the orders of the police have collected the samples of the bombs for further probe.

The police was alerted after Sudhakar, a businessman by profession found the bomb at his terrace.

A case has been registered by the Elephant Gate Police and teams have been formed to capture the culprits. Inquiries suggest that the material could have come with some parcel and then come to the notice of employees and dumped it on terrace.

There are godowns too located near the building, said the police. Atleast 8 people have been detained so far in the case.

"If the bomb was incidentally dumped on the terrace, the bomb too will be drenched in the rain," said a police officer.
