A Raja defends in court; says "done nothing wrong"

A Raja
New Delhi, Jul 25: Tainted former Telecom Minister A Raja has washed his hands off any wrong doing and said in court, "I have done no wrong". Defending himself in the special CBI court, he blamed the NDA government for its flawed policies and said that he was not the brain behind the scam.

Blaming the NDA government for their policy on spectrum auction, Raja said in court that all former telecom ministers since 1993 should be jailed. The special CBI Judge OP Saini is hearing the case.

The court had earlier allowed the Income Tax department to question Raja in his role in the 2G spectrum scam. He was interrogated by the I-T department along with Swam Telecom promoter Shahid Usman Balwa, its director Vinod Goenka and Reliance Group executives Gautam Doshi, Hari Nair and Surendra Pipara.

Raja was accused of cheating, forgery and criminal conspiracy and is housed in Tihar Jail. The CBI had presented its arguments in the case and made Raja the prime accused in the multi-crore telecom scam.
