SC allows Sanjay Dutt to travel abroad

A bench of justices P Sathasivam and B S Chauhan asked the actor to surrender his passport within a week after coming back to the country.
The court passed the orders on a petition filed by the actor seeking the court's permission to go abroad for shooting of a film till June 2012.
A special TADA court in Mumbai had in November 2006 acquitted Dutt of TADA charges but held him guilty under the Arms Act for possessing a weapon illegally. He was sentenced to six year imprisonment.
Dutt was granted bail in 2007 on his appeal challenging his conviction in the Mumbai serial blasts. Dutt has been approaching the apex court since then for permission to go abroad for completing his film assignments.
