Elephant tusks seized from superstar Mohanlal's residence

Kochi, Jul 22: Two elephant tusks have been recovered from the residence of superstar Mohanlal in Kochi, said official sources.

Income tax officials had begun raids at the house and offices of south superstars Mammootty and Mohanlal at 6.30 am on Jul 22, Friday (today).

Several documents have been seized by the taxman so far and the raid is continuing at 18 different locations that include houses owned by Mohanlal and Mammootty in Kochi, Trivandrum and Chennai apart from the offices and hotels owned by the stars in Bangalore.

Antony Perumbavoor, a close aide of Mohanlal is also being raided, said an official. Mohanlal is currently in Madurai for the shooting of his new movie.

The raids are expected to continue for another three days, said sources.

Similar raids were conducted at the residence of several Kannada film distributors and film makers on Jun 11 in which several documents were seized. Houses of Kannada film and TV stars K Manju, Sihi Kahi Chandru and many others at J P Nagar, Teachers Colony, Vijayanagar, Jayanagar and Sadashivanagar were raided.
