Army men abduct, gangrape a young woman in Kashmir

Srinagar, Jul 21: Two army men allegedly abducted and raped a young woman in Kulgam district of south Kashmir.

The police officials said that the woman was abducted by two unidentified army personnel from Kheranbal Behak on Jul 19 and gang-raped. Later the culprits released the victim on Wednesday.

Senior police officers rushed to the concerned police station in Kulgam and recorded her statement, the sources said, adding the woman will be sent for medical examination.

Meanwhile, the alleged rape incident has caused outrage among the villagers. People at Damhal Hanjipora came out on the roads and held demonstrations demanding stern action against the erring personnel.
