McDowell's ad will not go off air, says Vijay Mallya

Mumbai, Jul 19: The controversial McDowell's No 1 advertisement will not be called off air, said UB Group Chairman, Vijay Mallya.

The statement came a day after Harbhajan Singh's mother, Avtar Kaur sent a notice to the UB group over a television advertisement that features him and Indian cricket team Captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

Harbhajan Singh's mother had said that these kind of commercials could cause clash and dissension in the team.

Claiming that the advertisement was a mockery of him, his family and the whole Sikh Community, Bhajji sought an apology from the UB group demanding that the advertisement be called off air soon.

Dhoni in a McDowell No 1 Platinum advertisement makes fun of Harbhajan who had featured in an advertisement for Royal Stag. Interestingly both Royal Stag and McDowell's No 1 are competing whiskey brands in the market.
