Terrorism in India
Mumbai, Jul 19: Satellite conversation between terrorists plotting for underwater attacks have been intercepted by the Army, said media reports.

The report comes after the Intelligence report issued warning on possible terror strikes by terrorists on the Bhakra Nangal Dam.

Terror groups LeT and Jamaat-Ud-Dawaat are planning to strike Bhakra Nangal Dam during monsoon when the water level is at the highest to cause maximum damage, said an IB report.

Terrorists are being trained in Pakistan to climb up the walls and swim under water, said reports. A report was sent to the Himachal Pradesh government in this regard and has been asked to tighten its security.

The report also talks about how some parts of the dam are susceptible to under water attacks.

Earlier threats were made by LeT leaders at rallies in Pakistan.

"I promise that if India and Manmohan Singh block Pakistan's waters, we will let loose a river of blood." "Heed this India- the Pakistan of Jihadis, the Pakistan of Kashmiris vow, if you steal our water rivers of blood will flow," JuD leader, Abdur Rehman Makki had said in Feb 2010.

The dam which is 223 meters has at least 10 underwater inlets which are prone to attacks. If these are damaged then the river water could gush out flooding the whole neighbouring area.

The news comes after the recent terror strikes that shook Mumbai on Jul 13 at Zaveri Bazaar, Dadar and Opera House.
