IAF man kills colleague

Chandigarh, July 18: An Indian Air Force (IAF) sergeant allegedly killed his colleague after a brawl, police said here today (Jul 18). 38-year-old Gurmeet Singh Gill, posted at the 12 wing of the Air Force station here, killed Surjit Singh Saini, posted at three Base Repair Depot (BRD), last night, they said.

Both were in an inebriated state when Gill allegedly hit Saini on his head with a slab of stone following a brawl, police said. However, Gill claimed that he acted in self-defence after Saini hurled a brick at him, but missed the target.

Gill has been arrested, they said.
