CID to probe into Faiz Usmani's death

Mumbai, Jul 17: Faiz Usmani, one of the key suspects in connection with the 13/7 deadley blasts in Mumbai, died in Sion hospital on Saturday night, Jul 16, following which the Mumbai cops have asked the CID to probe into the real cause of the death. Though cops claim it to be a natural death, initial medical reports say he died of hyper tension.

Faiz is the brother of Afzal Usmani who is an Ahmedabad and Surat blast suspect. The duo were allegedly members of the Indian Mujahideen. Faiz was taken into custody by the police for questioning about his alleged involvement in the 13/7 terror attacks. But, unfortunately he died in the hospital. Usmani is now being interrogated by the cops.

Family members of Faiz suspect foul play behind the death. The body has now been sent for post mortem that will reveal the exact reason for the death. His son has been quoted as saying, “My father was picked up for question. He was pressurised during the interrogation. The police is to blame for his death."
