27 ''mentally challenged'' freed from fake NGO

"All the persons are seemingly mentally ill and were kept for some time in a small house ''Nagma Seva Sadan'' by two persons Nagma Bano and Dheerendra Parmar. They were running the Sadan as an NGO but it was not registered hence does not exist," Superintendent of Police Dholpur Rahul Prakash said.
The centre owners, who also have criminal background, said they were working for the rehabilitation of mentally challenged people but there is no such documentary evidence in this support, he said.
The SP said that there were several complaints that the accused were involved in human trafficking and mentally challenged persons were being tortured in the centre, but all this was a part of investigation.
"We have arrested both the accused under relevant act and sections of IPC and sent the people for medical check up," he added.
