Madhya Pradesh loses two berths in reshuffle at Centre

Madhya Pradesh
Bhopal, Jul 13: Madhya Pradesh's representation at the Centre has come down to two following Tuesday's reshuffle. Earlier, there were four ministers at the Centre from the state, but the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh dropped Tribal Affairs Minister Kantilal Bhuria and Minister of State for Agriculture Arun Yadav in Tuesday's exercise.

Bhuria became the president of Madhya Pradesh Congress some time ago. Arun is the son of former Deputy Chief Minister of the state, Subhash Yadav. He was first elected to Lok Sabha in 2007 from Khargone constituency.

But in a consolation of sorts, Charandas Mahant, a Congress leader from Chhattisgarh, has been included in the union ministry. He has had a long association with Madhya Pradesh, where he was a minister from 1993 to 2003, in Digvijay Singh's government.
