Main accused in Kothamangalam sex case arrested

Kochi, July 11: The main accused in the case relating to the rape of a minor girl at Kothamangalam in Ernakulam district was arrested today, police said.

Bekkar (27), against whom a lookout notice had been issued, was arrested from Neriyamangalm in Idukki district, they said.

Two former classmates of the 14-year-old girl, who is pregnant, have also been taken into custody, police said.

The girl had told the police that besides her father, many others had sexually abused her for over a year at different places. So far 13 persons have been arrested in connection with the case.
