Kumaraswamy breaks fast, Yeddyurappa breathes easy for now
On a hunger strike demanding for a CBI enquiry into the BJP's allegations that Kumaraswamy and family had illegally amassed huge wealth worth Rs 1500 crore. The BJP had also released a booklet highlighting how HD Deve Gowda and family amassed massive wealth.
Yeddyurappa in his sustained efforts to coax Kumaraswamy had appointed a three-member ministerial team led by Home Minister R Ashok, Minister for Labour B N Bacchegowda and Minister for Housing V Somanna with a letter, inviting Kumarawamy for talks on his demands, but appeared to be not too keen on the CBI probe, as demanded by Kumaraswamy.
Yeddyurappa had called for a meeting with Kumaraswamy to talk matters out and expressed concern over his health. Both Yeddyurappa and Kumaraswamy had shared power under a coalition system in 2006.
Ashoka was quoted as saying to reporters that the various allegations levelled against Kumaraswamy were under probe with cases in court and in the Lokayukta radar and it would be best to await their ruling on the cases .On the booklet, he said that the BJP would take action on this at an appropriate time.
