The decision came ahead of the cabinet reshuffle that is expected to take place on 11 Jul. Reports say that DMK may take its decision on Jul 23 after its general council meeting.
Reports also claim that a change is likely to happen in the portfoilio of one of DMK's Mos berth.
DMK did not react immediately by taking the berths as it may send across a wrong signal, that the party has no objection to Kanimozhi's arrest, said Sources.
Reports also claim that Pranab Mukherjee who met DMK Chief, M Karunanidhi discussed on the Kanimozhi issue and how the matter was being dealt in the Supreme Court.
"There is lots of writing and speculation on DMK-Congress alliance continuing or not. The alliance is there and will continue, it will be strengthened," Pranab Mukherjee had said after he met Karunanidhi.
"I took the opportunity of calling down Karunanidhi and discuss the political situation in the country. It's a courtesy whenever I come to Chennai to meet Karunanidhi," Pranab had said.
Dayanidhi Maran who resigned on Thursday, Jul 7 after he was caught in the 2G spectrum scam following the number of proofs submitted by CBI against his involvement in the Aircel-Maxis deal was also present at the meeting.
