24,000 TB patients treated in Chhattisgarh in 18 months
These patients, covered under the Revised National Tuberculosis Control Programme (RNTCP), have been totally cured of the infectious disease, they said.
They were subjected to DOTS (directly observed treatment, short course) and they are now living a normal life, the sources said.
There are 600 other patients who could not be cured under DOTS and they are now being given Multi-drug-Resistant Tuberculosis (MDRTB) treatment, they said. In April 2010, a total of 28,052 TB cases had come to light in the state.
