Modi launches Air quality monitoring station

SK Modi
Patna, Jul 8: Bihar Deputy Chief Minister S K Modi today (Jul 8) launched the Rs 58 lakh Continuous Ambient Air Quality Monitoring Station in the state capital, the first after a similar machine launched in Kolkata in Eastern India.

Speaking on the occasion, Modi said the station would prove handy in giving information about the pollutant constituents to the people of the state.

"We will launch similar stations in Muzaffarpur and Gaya in future while all other districts would have manual centres for collecting the data on air quality," he said.

Expressing concern over the rise in vehicle pollution, Modi said the state government had decided to impose green tax on the vehicles for arresting the pollution.
