Google Maps for Android gives Transit Navigation

Google Maps 5.7 offers updated access to directions, better suggested search results and a photo viewer to Place pages. Google Maps Navigation (Beta) currently provides over 12 billion miles of GPS-guided driving and walking directions per year.
Additional, GPS turn-by-turn navigation is available for public transit directions in more than 400 cities around the globe with Transit Navigation.

Google said that Transit Navigation uses GPS to determine users current location along with their routes. It alerts the user when it"s time to get off or make a transfer. More over, after starting the trips, users can open other apps or make calls, but Google Maps will give alerts in notification bar or vibrate the phone when they reach their stop.
The new Google Maps will work on devices with Android 2.1 or higher versions. Users can click here to download the new updated Google Maps app.
