Andhra: Violence escalates in Osmania University on 2nd day

According to media reports, there have been instances of students stone pelting the police, who were spread across the campus. Tear gas were also used in an attempt to dispel the angry crowd.
Tension mounted at Osmania University after the students were protesting against the presence of police on the campus and security beef.
The TRS had called for a bandh on Jul 5 in Andhra Prdesh demanding a separate state of Telangana. Hyderabad, Mahbubnagar, Karimnagar, Rangareddy, Nizamabad and Warangal are the districts that are observing a bandh.
As more MLAs, MPs and MLCs from Telangana region quit their posts, the heavy pressure on the Centre continues to mount to take an early decision on the sentiments for a separate state.
