Blogger, Google Plus and Picassa logos
California, Jul 6: In a move to bring all its services under 'Google' brand, the web giant Google is planning to rebrand its popular services Blogger and Picasa.

According to a report in technology blog Mashable, Google is renaming the Blogger to Google Blogs and Picasa to Google Photos. The report added that Google wants to "unify its brand" ahead of the public launch its recently announced social networking site Google+ (Google Plus).

The Android maker Google wants to change the names of its popular service under Google brand to attract more users. Currently, Google have other services like Google Directory, Google Docs, Google Chrome, Google Translate etc. Adding 'Google' to its service will increase the popularity of these services.

Blogger is a blog-publishing service that allows private or multi-user blogs with time-stamped entries. It was created by Pyra Labs, which was bought by Google in 2003.

Picasa is an image organizer and image viewer for organizing and editing digital photos, plus an integrated photo-sharing website, originally created by Idealab in 2002 and acquired by Google in 2004.

Anyhow, Google is reportedly not planning to change the name of YouTube, world's favourite video sharing website. Earlier, Google started Google Video service, but later shut down due to low acceptance from users.
