Farmer's messiah Rahul in Bhatta-Parsaul; Maya on alert!

With the UP soon becoming a hotbed for atrocities and violent assaults on women and children, Rahul Gandhi wants to stake claim as the messiah of the farmers. Despite Mayawati government's denial of permission for Rahul Gandhi to hold a rally in Bhatta village, Rahul has initiated his padayatra from Parsaul from Tuesday morning. The foot march will see him making impromptu stops in various villages where he will meet villagers and farmers and has been quoted as saying to them, "I want to know your problems". The walk is expected to culminate in Aligarh where the Kissan Mahapanchayath is scheduled to be held on Jul 9.
Rahul Gandhi had earlier highlighted the atrocities meted out by the Mayawati government to the farmers who were protesting the governments move on land acquisition. With the Mayawati government clearly in a corner over various allegations on slack governance and administration failure, the latest move from the Gandhi-scion is sure to irk the Maya administration. She had earlier refused permission to the Congress to carry out a 'Nyaya' march in Lucknow that was a peaceful protest to highlight the number of crimes in Uttar Pradesh.
