Australian found dead in Jamshedpur hotel

Jamshedpur, July 2: A 52-year-old Australian national was found dead in a hotel in Bistupur area here, police said today (Jul 2). Ian E Cox, who was staying in a reputed hotel here since April last, did not respond when the house-keeping staff knocked the door repeatedly on Friday.

The door was opened with a duplicate key and he was found lying on the floor of the room, police said.

Cox, a consultant for Siemens, was immediately rushed to the Tata Main Hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.

Police Superintendent (City) Jatin Narwal said post-mortem of the body would be conducted under the supervision of a magistrate rank official today.
