Fruitful talk on Lokpal: Sonia makes Anna happy

New Delhi, Jul 2: The Gandhian crusader Anna Hazare met Congress President Sonia Gandhi and claimed that discussion on Lokpal controversy were fruitful.

Hazare with RTI activist Arvind Kejriwal and finance minister Pranab Mukherjee reached the residence of the Congress president in the national capital on Saturday, Jul 2. The meeting at 4 pm had caught media attention as they met just ahead of the all party meeting on Sunday.

The UPA government, citing the differences in joint committee members of Lokpal panel, called all party meeting to discuss the views and thoughts of all party leaders.

The Lokpal spat started when the joint committee to draft the anti-corruption bill was divided over certain issues, especially inclusion of the PM under its (Lokpal's) ambit.

Earlier, Hazare met BJP leaders on Friday. During his meeting with the BJP leaders, Anna Hazare did not receive any profound support from the party as BJP leaders have not cleared their stand yet on the issue of inclusion of the Prime Minister and other higher judiciary and entire bureaucracy under Lokpal's ambit.

BJP party sources informed that the NDA leaders will hold a core-party meeting on Saturday and clarify their stand on the much discussed Lokpal controversy.
