Lokpal: Will Bal Thackeray listen to Advani?

New Delhi, Jul 2: LK Advani, Senior BJP leader said in a press conference on Jul 2(today) that NDA will attend the Lokpal meet that is scheduled for Jul 3.

He also said that NDA will try its best to convince Shiv Sena to attend the Lokpal meet and further adding that a effective lokpal meet was needed.

Hazare on Friday, Jul 1 met senior BJP leaders including LK Advani, Rajnath Singh, Murli Manohar Joshi and many others. After the meeting the opposition leaders claimed that they wanted a strong Lokpal (Ombudsman) to curb or eliminate corruption completely from the country.

However, during his meeting with the BJP leaders, Anna Hazare did not receive any profound support from the party as BJP leaders have not cleared their stand yet on the issue of inclusion of the Prime Minister and other higher judiciary and entire bureaucracy under Lokpal's ambit.

BJP's uncleared stand on the Lokpal issue made people questioning - is it because one day BJP may be in power replacing the UPA government and they don't want to be held accountable by Lokpal bill?

Today's press conference still hasn't cleared many doubts and still puts one in dilemma about BJP's stand on Prime Minister falling under the Lokpal ambit.
