Vijender Singh knocked out with marriage invitation, booked

Citing media reports on Vijender's use of national emblem on marriage reception card, a Delhi-based man Abhishek Kadyan lodged a complaint. Superintendent of police, Bhiwani, Ashwin Sainvi said that they have taken more than one month to take any action against the Indian boxing star.
Police sources said that the cops moved to a court as it was a "non-cognizable offence" and registered an FIR against the boxer, his family and the printer of the marriage card.
Vijender recently married his childhood friend Archana on May 17, 2011. Sources said that Vijender may face either 3 months in jail or 5000 rupees fine if found guilty.
The FIR against Vijender and others have been lodged under Section 3 of the National Emblem and Names Act (prevention of improper use), 1950 in Bhiwani Sadar police station.
The above mentioned act prohibits any person to use the emblem for private purpose of any trade, business etc or in the title of any patent, or in any trademark or design, except in such cases and under such conditions as may be prescribed.
