Man kills wife for objecting to his drinking binge

Jaunpur (UP), Jun 30: A man killed his wife when she objected to his selling household goods to raise money to buy liquor at Kalapur village in Kheta Sarai police station area.

Police said Suresh Rajbhar, who was given to drinking, attacked his wife Shyam Kali with an iron when she objected to his selling it for raising money to buy liquor. A seriously injured Shyam Kali succumbed to injuries in hospital today.

Suresh had earlier sold his cattle and taken a loan by mortgating his agricultral land to meet the expenditure for his drinking. The father of the deceased has filed an FIR, police said adding Suresh has been arrested.
