Azamgarh (UP), Jun 30: Two persons, including a priest of a temple, were injured when some unidentified men barged in to the temple and took away an mixed metal idol and Rs one lakh cash, police said today (Jun 30).

The incident occurred last night when priest Brijbihari Das and his helper Baliram Das were sleeping in the temple in Banhara village in Tahbarpur area here, they said.

Two men barged in to the temple and hit the priest and his helper on their heads and later escaped with the Ashtdhatu idol and Rs one lakh cash. The police has launched a manhunt to nab the miscreants.
