Sachan did not work with me, says CMO Shukla

Lucknow, Jun 28: AK Shukla, CMO, Uttar Pradesh and the main accused in fraudulent scheme of the NHRM funds said that he was questioned thrice by the police and pleaded innocence.

He further added that he was clueless about why his name was listed in the FIR and claimed that YS Sachan, deputy CMO did not work with him.

Meanwhile sources have said that Shukla might be held soon.

A case was registered against Shukla by police on Apr 7 after he was arrested on the charges of murdering YS Sachan.

Sachan was found dead in the unused toilet of the hospital where he was undergoing treatment.

The postmortem report revealed six injury marks on the body of Sachan including on neck, elbow, thigh and wrist. He was arrested on charges of murdering BP Singh, a CMO on Jun 17. BP Singh was murdered on Apr 2, 2011 over charging the irregularities in purchasing drugs and equipments under the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM).
