Islamabad, Jun 24: Hina Rabbani Khar have been appointed as Pakistan's Minister of Foreign Affairs.

34-year-old Khar is the daughter of Malik Ghulam Noor Rabbani Khar, veteran politician and the niece of Malik Ghulam Mustafa Khar, ex Governor.

During the Pervez Musharraf rule, she was the member of PML-Q and joined Pakistan People's Party in the year 2008.

Khar will be travelling to India in Jul to hold on peace process.

"What we can deliver at this stage is that our Foreign Minister will be visiting New Delhi in Jul," said Shahid Malik, Pakistan High Commissioner to India.

The ex Foreign Minister, Shah Mahmood Qureshi was removed from his post after there was a reshuffle of cabinet in Feb after he differed on his views over whether Raymod Davis was a legal diplomat. Qureshi believed that Raymond was not a diplomat. Davis was accused of killing two Pakistani men in Lahore after which he was arrested. US government argued that Raymond had diplomatic immunity.

The decision to appoint Khar as the Foreign Minister comes after the scheduled talks between the foreign Ministers of Pakistan and India.
