Hyderabad, Jun 24: While the whole is nation desperately debating over escalating corruption in the country, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy has asked his Cabinet colleagues to submit their property list by Aug 31, 2011.

The new move by the Andra CM was followed by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's decision to ask the Union Cabinet ministers to provide a list of their properties by Aug 31.

Interestingly, some of the state cabinet ministers on Thursday, Jun 23 said that they were not aware about Chief Ministers order to submit their property returns. Some of them added that they came to know about the matter only when school education minister Sailajanath spoke about it to the media.

"The CM has asked all of us to submit our property returns by August 31. I am preparing to give it by July 15 itself," said Sailajanath.

Sources close to CMs office said that the order has been sent by the General Administration Department to all ministers' office.

Even though some of the ministers favoured CM's decision, others were silently opposing it. When it comes to declaring personal assets, it's obvious that the team opposing the new move will get majority. Some ministers were cross checking with their personal staff to know about the 'letter form CM office'.
