Mayawati smiles: NHRC rules out rape in Bhatta-Parsaul

Mayawati
New Delhi, Jun 23: Finally, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati got some relief after a series of attack from political opponents over the poor law and order in the state. The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has precluded rape attempts during the Bhatta-Parsaul farmers protest.

Earlier, Congress party and General Secretary Rahul Gandhi accused UP police force of raping and killing villagers. Rahul Gandhi revealed that farmers told him about rape and murder during the protest. Ruling out Rahul Gandhi's claims, NHRC states that farmers hadn't lost their lives in numbers.

The 800-page interim report submitted by NHRC also ruled out the rape in the notorious Lakhimpur Kheri police station rape case.

Even though the report saves the UP police from rape allegations, it makes serious accusations against the cops for alleged excesses committed during the operation.

The NHRC will meet later this week to prepare the final report. It is expected that NHRC will send the recommendations to government by July first week.
