Bangalore, June 23: A special court here today (Jun 23)adjourned to July 8 the disproportionate assets case against Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa.

Senior advocate B Kumar appearing on behalf of Jayalalithaa, had filed an application before the court seeking four weeks' time to study the case as he had recently been appointed as counsel and the case was a complicated one.

Kumar is representing Jayalalithaa as earlier counsel Navaneetha Krishnan has been appointed Advocate General of Tamil Nadu.

Special judge B M Mallikarjunaiah decided to grant Kumar a fortnight's time to study the matter and adjourned the case to July 8.

Earlier, the court also decided to ignore the letter written by G Sambandham, deputy superintendent of Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC), Chennai and addressed directly to the judge, saying that they were going to carry out further investigation.
