Karunanidhi meets Kanimozhi in Tihar jail
Karunanidhi was resting at a five star hotel before meeting his daughter.
Karunanidhi accompanied by T R Balu, DMK Parliamentary Party leader, Kanimozhi's mother Rajathi Ammal and her brother MK Alagiri met Kanimozhi and spent an hour in the jail with her.
Karunanidhi's favourite child Kanimozhi was rejected bail on Jun 20 by Supreme Court.
Kanimozhi along with Kalaignar TV MD Sharad Kumar is accused of receiving a bribe of whopping Rs 200 crore in connection with the 2G spectrum scam.
It was the third consecutive bail rejection for the duo as Delhi High Court and a trial court had earlier dismissed their bail pleas. Sources also claim that Kanimozhi may have to spend another year in jail.
Though CBI could not submit the original documents which show money transferring in and out from Kalaignar TV, the investigation agency opposed the bail plea by the accused as saying, Kanimozhi and Sharad Kumar may destroy the evidences against them if they are allowed to walk free.
