Mild quake rocks Delhi; no damages

Delhi
New Delhi, Jun 20: After news of the impending monsoon showers reaching the capital Delhi, there was a not-so-expected earthquake that Delhiites had to witness on Monday morning. Though, the mild 4.6 quake on the richter scale did not cause any casualties or damages.

The tremors were felt in certain parts of North India including New Delhi, Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh at 11:57 am. The epicenter of the quake is considered to be Uttarakhand's Chamoli region. According to officials, the quake was felt for a few seconds.

With the monsoon yet to unleash its complete fury in Delhi and adjoining states, the quake has raised fear among citizens there. The last such earthquake was experienced in Delhi on Apr 4 with the epicenter of that quake near the Indo-Nepal border measuring 5.7 in the richter scale.
