Barack Obama tweeting for US Prez elections 2012

Washington, Jun 19: Aiming to boost his 2012 presidential reelection campaign, United States President Barack Obama started tweeting himself through his Twitter account.

Obama, who is contesting to the president post for a second term, wants to use the social networking websites Facebook and Twitter to reach out to more people. His campaign said that it will now manage both Obama's Twitter account and Facebook page.

"Obama for America staff will now be managing both accounts, posting daily updates from the campaign trail, from Washington, and everywhere in between," said an Obama for America statement posted to BarackObama.com. “You"ll be hearing from President Obama regularly, too; on Twitter, tweets from the President will be signed '-BO',"

Welcoming the followers to his new initiation, Obama tweeted, "a new (at)BarackObama. From now on, (hash)Obama2012 staff will manage this account; tweets from the President will be signed "-BO."

The new campaign is aimed to give new opportunities to make the most of these social networking platforms, using them not only to report what the president is doing every day but to connect to the millions of supporters who will be driving this campaign.
